How to Relieve Caregiver Stress

Are you ever so engaged in an activity that you lose all track of time?

It's an interesting phenomenon.

And, if you've experienced it, you know what happens.

Two hours feels like 30 minutes...

You're so focused on what you're doing, you don't notice what's going on around you...

And things you normally worry about don't nudge their way in.

Positive psychologist, Dr. Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, who researched this phenomenon, put a name to this state of consciousness.

He called it Flow...

A positive state of being that tends to happen when you engage in something fun, creative, or playful that captures your full attention.

When you love your chosen activity and you're good at it, (whatever your "it" may be; favorite hobby, sport, or creative endeavor) your magical "state of flow" will unlock organically...

Leaving you feeling less stressed and more energized.

In fact, the benefits are much like those you would experience through meditation.

Why?

Your brain is only able to focus on what you're doing...

Giving it a much needed break from its usual thinking mode.

We like to think of it as a "staycation" for your brain.

In a coaching session recently, one of our clients shared how she is tapping into her flow through jigsaw puzzles and reading.

So, what gets your juices flowing?

Whatever it is, it's worth making it a priority.

It's a form of restoration for your brain...

And it benefits your overall health.

If it's been awhile since you've been in flow...

Don't wait another day.

Think now about something you LOVE to do...

Then, block out at least 30 minutes next week and...

Go with the Flow!
